RE: Coleman Pop-ups

I think this is a win situation with the Coleman name. That may be, but what about the consumer, won't it just add to cost without any real value, maybe some perceived value? How does it effect the resale on my non Coleman PU? Or my purchase of a non Coleman PU?

RE: Coleman Camper is Back

So what's the real deal? Do they make anything or not? And if they don't make anything, when did they quit? They make coolers!
RVP products, use the Coleman name under license, they make roof top RV air condiotioners
Coleman Air Conditon used by license aka johnson controls!

RE: Where's He Ruide?

The BAL Leveler is a good alternative to boardsYou should apply grease to your coupler ball, andYou should jack up a PUP by the frame and not the axleI think 2 outta three are in the manual (of some PUs), lubricant vs grease! Note sure about the other. Anyone knows of a PU maker that recommends #1?
Get well!

RE: Coleman Camper is Back

Fleetwood bought the trailer factory in Somerest. It started in 1966 as a division of Coleman and was sold in 1989 to Fleetwood.
Coleman still makes coolers etc in the USA (Kansas & Texas)

RE: Electrical Issue

No help here, however, my converter has fustrated me to the point that I was seconds away from bypassing it and connecting the battery directly to the different circuits.
Mine uses wire nuts, if you have plastic plugs clean the contacts. Or check the voltage on both sides!

RE: Coleman Camper is Back

FTCA has a license agreement with Fleetwood. It lasts as long as the agreement states or is renewed. The company (FFT) changed names the second FTCA, INC bought FFT, the license agreement allows FTCA to continue to use the Fleetwood name.
The new release claims FTCA was founded in 1966, no it was not, Coleman created a division to build PU in 1966.
If these Colman Trailers are like the rest of the******Coleman sticks it name on, quality will be the first thing to go.

RE: Outlets Not Working On Battery

I wish my converter charged my battery :(, that would be a handy feature, hope yours does. I hear newer ones do!
Once your converter senses there is no 120v, it switches to battery and allows the battery voltage to pass through the converter's fuses powering lights etc.(not the AC outlets).
We are only talking 12v.
Want 120v? Get a generator or inverter!

RE: Smelly Water....

One poster perpetuated the myth that rotten egg smell always comes from sulfur. It can, but usually is hydrogen sulfide gas coming from iron bacteria or the anode rod in your hot water heater (you may or may not have that rod)In the summer, the pressure tanks associated with wells get warm if not hot also so the 'cold' water can smell also, especially when not used for extended periods.

A heavier wire! This guy used #2 welding wire. I opted for #10. Haven't had a chance to draw the battery down to test the current.

RE: Extra Power Supply

I was not sure how the converter worked when the PUP is dry camping with no power hookup. It just passes the battery power to the lights, water pump ... So it really doesn't DO anything when not plugged into 120v.
Mine ('96) has a conv, off, batt switch. Newer ones sense 120v or not, switching from conv to batt automatically.

RE: Can Coleman lamp be used inside pup?

Don't know about liquid gas but the outside high pressure propane stoves, grills and laterns seem to have higher pressure gas output to compensate for the outside wind. More pressure, means more flow through the same size orfices. Being more flow is present, I would have to think that there's excess flow and not complete combustion, most likely producing a lot of carbon monoxide. High pressure propane is needed outside but could produce the extra CO, while low pressure (on your inside stove) most likely produces just enough flow for complete combustion, although even these can produce enough CO to be dangerous. That's why heating through the oven or stove is always a bad idea.????:h

RE: AC works. DC doesn't.

Colored (red or black) is positive if the other wire is white (negative).
Let's hope the reverse polarity protection built into the converter (fuse) blew and all you need is to connect the battery correctly and replace a fuse!

RE: How long will my battery last?

If i have fridge on 12v will this also drain the starter battery on my Trailblazer. I think i have an isolater on the pu battery. Looks like a silver box that is intregrated in the wireing right before the deep cycle battery of the pu. I do have a charge line to the pu. I just want the tv to start if we leave it for several hours. That sounds like a circuit breaker link

Get a volt meter and test the TVs plug (unplugges) with the key off. Check for volts between pin 4 and 1
